The
Government’s proposals for more than three million new homes to be
built across the UK by 2025 are tough on the South East in general and
Kent in particular. Ashford, due to be doubled in size and the Kent
Thameside area of the Thames Gateway, are both targets for major
development.
However, in both these areas
and across Kent as a whole, local authorities and an assortment of
agencies are determined that quality will exceed quantity and that
there will be the right balance between infrastructure provision, job
creation, housing and protecting the Kent countryside.
Kent Profile reports regularly on the redevelopment and regeneration of
the county, writes about the increasing emphasis on sustainability and
provides an informed property advice column by award-winning estate
agents Miles & Barr.
